Camel trek & a night in the Sahara
In the late afternoon we leave our guesthouse at the foot of the dunes. Your camels are packed with food, blankets and everything we need, and a 1 h 30 ride takes you deep into the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Climb the high dunes for the sunset, enjoy dinner around the campfire with Berber drums and sleep in a nomad camp under a sky full of stars. At sunrise we ride back to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower at the guesthouse.

Getting to Merzouga
How to get to the dunes
Merzouga sits at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes, in south-east Morocco. Here's how to reach us.
560 km · around 8–9 hours
- Private transfer The most comfortable option: we pick you up at your hotel and drive through the High Atlas, Aït Benhaddou and the Dades or Todra gorges.
- Night bus CTM or Supratours run night buses to Merzouga (Hassi Labied or Merzouga village).
- Rental car The road is safe and scenic, with many amazing stops along the way. Free parking at our guesthouse.

- Private transfer Enjoy the Middle Atlas, Ifrane, the cedar forests of Azrou (with their monkeys!) and the Ziz Valley on the way.
- Night bus Supratours and CTM offer night buses from Fes to Merzouga.
Flight + 2 h drive · or 10–11 hours by road
- Flight + road Take a domestic flight to Errachidia (ERH) — we pick you up at the airport, 2 hours from Merzouga.
- Private tour Combine the trip with Rabat, Fes and the desert cities.

Ask a question →How long is the camel ride?
About 1 hour 30 minutes to reach the camp in the dunes, and the same ride back to Merzouga at sunrise. Each person has their own camel, guided by our camel men.
What is included in the 40 € price?
Your camel (1 h 30 ride), the night in nomad tents, dinner and breakfast, bottled water, a guesthouse room to leave your luggage and take a shower, and parking for your car if needed.
What is the camp like?
An equipped nomad camp in the middle of the dunes, with dinner around the campfire and traditional Berber drums. You can also upgrade to a luxury camp with private bathrooms.
Can I travel without riding a camel?
Yes. We can take you to the camp by 4x4, and you can add quad, buggy or sandboarding activities.
What should I bring?
A small bag with a warm layer for the night, a scarf or turban for the sun and sand, sunscreen, sunglasses, a torch and your camera. Your main luggage stays at the guesthouse.
Is it cold in the desert at night?
Desert nights can be cool, even in spring and autumn, and cold in winter. Blankets are provided in the camp, but bring a warm jacket.
How do I book?
Contact us on WhatsApp or with the form below with your date, number of people and type of camp (standard or luxury). We confirm availability and send you the full program. You confirm with a small deposit by PayPal or bank transfer, and pay the rest in cash on arrival in Merzouga.
Where do we meet in Merzouga?
At our guesthouse near the sand dunes, where the camel trek starts. We send you the exact location when you book.
What happens to my luggage?
You can leave it in a room at our guesthouse, where you'll also have a shower the next morning. Just take a small bag for the night.
I'm driving — where can I park?
Parking for your car at our guesthouse is included in the price.
How do I get to Merzouga?
By private transfer or tour from Marrakech, Fes or Casablanca, by CTM or Supratours night bus, by rental car, or by flying to Errachidia, where we can pick you up (2 hours away).
Can I stay more than one night?
Of course. We offer camel trekking from 1 night to several days, with sandboarding, 4x4 excursions, nomad family visits and more.
